  • When: Wednesday, January 23, 5 pm – 8 pm (doors open at 4:30 pm for refreshments)

  • Details: Features a presentation from Detective Harry James – Seattle Police Department Innocence Lost Taskforce; Human Trafficking updates from Shared Hope International and Rescue and Restore; Internet Safety for Kids and Parents; and the film “Your American Teen”.   This full length documentary is about the sexual exploitation of teenage girls in the northwest region of the United States. From incest, to drugs, to violent sexualized music, advertisements and movies, to sexual harassment in our schools, our malls and the internet, one thing is clear, our girls are under attack.  A representative from the movie’s producer and crew will also be on hand for a Q&A session after the film.

  • Identifying and Serving Survivors of Sex Trafficking
  • When: Thursday, January 24, 10am-1pm
  • Where: Kitsap Mental Health, Haselwood Room, 5455 Almira Dr. NE, Bremerton
  • Details: This free event will provide specialized training for service providers, social workers, and counselors in Kitsap County.  It can be difficult to recognize a client who has been trafficked, and to understand their specific needs resulting from their past or present situation.  Shelly Griffiths, LICSW, a supervisor at Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress, will be speaking and answering questions with a special focus on the impact of trauma and behavior trends of survivors.  Join us to better serve the trafficked women and youth in our community!
